Ah the library, one of the few places Elixir still felt comfortable. He'd still been out of it and avoiding people. The last thing he needed was everyone talking about how what happened to Mina wasn't his fault. Especially when he knew damn well it was. If he hadn't been so naive it never would've happened.
As he walked into the library he ignored people's stares. Especially regarding his unkempt look. His hair was messy and most likely greasy, his clothes were dirty as he rarely changed. He did shower, but not thoroughly, usually it was just standing under the water and then getting out. It's like he was punishing himself for what happened to her. And that wouldn't stop until she was better. Of course going to see her might help but he couldn't face her.
He walked along the shelves before grabbing a particularly thick volume. It was about emotions and physical ailments and the way they work together. Maybe there was some way he could help her. He sat down in a chair and began to quickly flip through, looking for the chapter that pertained the most to her. As he did he was completely unaware of someone sitting down beside him.

Angel was always concerned for her friends and Elixir, while not her closest friend, was no different. She just hated seeing the way he was torturing himself like this. She knew he blamed himself, and that was hard on anyone. But he was close to Mina, that made things that much worse. But she couldn't just sit by and watch him do this to himself. She saw him walk into the library and she looked over, watching him as he looked for what he needed. When he sat down, she walked over and sat beside him, looking at the book.
"You know you don't have to do this alone, you know. We're here to help you."
She looked at him, hoping he could find it in himself to say yes. The Telepaths could help him with Mina, they could get into her mind, help her work through her trauma. But Josh seemed to feel he needed to do this on his own. She hated seeing him in pain like this, but she just didn't know what to do to help him.

"I did this to her and I need to be the one to fix it."
Sure he didn't exactly do it to her but in his mind he did. In his mind he was just as guilty of what happened to her as Sugarman was. And he needed to be the one to fix it. He didn't even look up at her, just kept skimming page after page. He knew enough to know emotions and physical ailments go hand in hand.
"Now if you'll excuse me..."
Odds are that wouldn't set well with her and he was fine with that. The more people he pissed off the better. That meant fewer people would be coming around and bothering him.

She watched him for a few moments, not bothered by his indifference to her offer of help. But as he continued to flip through, she decided it was time to try something else, so she concentrated on the book and when his hand left the page, she encased the book in a shield and pushed it away from him. Looking back at him, she grabbed his shoulder.
"Josh, you can't blame yourself. You can't stop everything, you don't have that kind of power. It's not your fault. The telepaths can help her, they can get into her mind and help her recover. But they need your permission first. If you really want to help Mina, let them do this. It's the best chance at recovery that we have."
She didn't care if he went off the hook and tried to attack her, she could always shut him in a shield until he wore himself out. Now that she thought of it, she was probably one of the few people who could confront him and come out unscathed.

As the book flew in a sort of bubble, as he called it he felt her hands on his shoulders. He glared up at her his skin giving a quick flash of black. He could feel the blisters forming on her hands. He shoved her back, not too harshly though. He was still a gentleman, of sorts.
"Please release my book."
Was all he said, wanting to get back to his reading. Sure he heard everything she said but pretty much tossed it right out. He didn't want to accept help. This was his mess and he'd fix it on his own.

She saw him flash black and before she could react, she felt a searing pain from her hand. Crying out in pain, she brought her hand back, holding it to her chest as she took a shaky breath. She looked down at her hand, which was practically one big blister now, and looked at him, holding her shaking hand out for him to see.
"You see this? This is the pain you cause. THIS is your fault. What happened to Mina isn't. If you'd actually done anything to her, she'd look like this."
Her voice was quiet, but filled with venom as she spoke. She was tired of his self pitying and his attitude towards the people trying to help him. He needed a wake up call. If only she could find one that would work.

He quickly grabbed her hand in a flash of yellow light it was healed.
"Look, I'm sorry."
He said with a sigh before leaning back. He brushed his messy hair back and then rubbed his eyes. The look of fatigue was evident on his face. Which was odd since his abilities allowed him to hide any sign of fatigue or general tiring.
"I haven't been sleep well. Everytime I try all I see is Mina. Her look of fear and even slight hatred thinking I betrayed her. And now...now she's catatonic. I can't even bring myself to see her, afraid her fear of me will only make things worse."

She winced a little as he grabbed her hand, then rubbed it a little once he'd healed it. She didn't answer as he apologized, not sure if it was genuine or not. He started to confess to her and she lowered her head a little. She knew it was hard on him, seeing Mina like this. He started talking about his fear and she looked up at him, listening silently.
"I know it's hard, but you can't spend all your time looking for a solution on your own. We're all here to help you. We want to see Mina recover as much as you do. Please just let us help."
She reached over and gently touched his hand. She wanted so badly to see both him and Mina better.

"Telepaths can't do everything Angel, you and I both know that. If the mind is unwilling to heal then it doesn't matter if Xavier himself goes in, not much will happen. Not to mention the fact that it may only be a temporary fix but this..."
He held up the book.
"...this will help in the long run."
He said with a sigh. He knew it wouldn't be easy but he had to try something. If anything they'd need a telepath and his healing knowledge. Only problem was he didn't know how to properly help her, yet.

She closed her eyes as she listened to him. He was talking like he'd been inside her mind already. So when eh finished, she shook her head and looked over at him.
"How do you know she isn't willing to heal? She's catatonic, Josh, we can't know anything about her condition unless we go into her mind. Think, Josh. It can't all be physical. I know you want to be the one who saves her, but it can't just be you. At least let someone enter her mind to find out what her condition is."
She knew all he wanted was to help her and to be the one she sees when she woke up, but he just didn't get it. He couldn't be the one to save everyone. It just wasn't within his power.

"I've dealt with catatonic people before. Admittedly not that many, but a few. Most of them don't care about anything, even healing. She needs to be convinced that healing is necessary."
He said with a nod of his head. He had been studying catatonic people especially since this problem with Mina. He wanted to help her, no, he needed to help her. It had become his job now and he wasn't going to stop.
"I mean yes she needs therapy to get over what happened. But first she needs to be brought out of it. And actually it's simple to know whats going on. 9 out of 10 catatonic cases are always the same. They don't want to heal mentally or physically. And she's showing all signs of the 9."

She listened silently to him and sighed a bit as he still refused the Telepathic help. But she listened to his explanation and thought for a few moments. There had to be some way she could convince him... When he started explaining about the types and what they wanted, she looked over and nodded a little in thought.
"Alright, then. What are the signs?"
She leaned on the table, resting her chin in her hands as she looked at the textbook, wondering if his explanation was in there.

"Well, some catatonic people show response to some stimulus, she does not. She seems to refuse to sleep, which will also cause the body's natural healing to slow down or even stop. And to top things off, many of her wounds are showing no sign of healing. Despite me trying my best to heal them when we got her back. If she does not want to heal, she won't."
He said with a sigh. Everyone always underestimated him or thought he knew little to nothing because he was 17. Something he found very insulting. He knew more about anatomy and medicine than majority of first year med students. In this school Xavier and Dr. McCoy were the only ones he was second to.

Angel sat beside him and listened. At least he was talking now, that was a marked improvement. He explained his reason for thinking Mina didn't want to heal and she nodded. It all made sense and she had to admit, she could see why he thought they had to do something physical. But that didn't negate her point.
"It seems to me that if she doesn't want to heal, then changing her physical state won't do anything. We need to find a way to convince her that life is worth living, that she has a reason to heal. Again, we'll need Telepaths. You can talk to her through a Telepath."

"See, that's what annoys me. If someone has even the tiniest problem mentally everyone assumes they need a telepath. Where as a good amount of mental disorders can be treated, and even cured physically. Hell with my abilities it wouldn't be that hard. Increase her adrenaline and other various hormones to be able to talk to her. However that seems like a quick, and all too simple way."
He said shaking his head. Everyone always jumped to telepaths. Pretty soon they'd be using them to treat broken limbs and cuts.
"Telepaths, even Xavier, can't do everything Angel."
He sighed a bit. After all it was his fault and he needed to help her, no matter what everyone said.
